Emily Barske is stepping down as editor of the Business Record in Des Moines, Iowa.
She will start a part-time role focused on special projects in July while she pursues a master’s degree in nonfiction narrative writing from the University of Georgia.
The Business Record hired Barske as associate editor in 2019. Barske was the news editor at the Marshalltown Times-Republican. She previously was an intern at the Omaha World-Record in Nebraska.
Barske is a graduate of Iowa State University where she was editor in chief of the student newspaper.
