
Baltimore Business Journal reporter Matt Hooke is leaving the publication and moving to New York.
He is joining Newsday to cover scams, consumer protection and white collar crime.
Hooke covers technology, higher education, cannabis and health care in the Baltimore region. He joined the Business Journal in 2022 after working at the Cecil Whig, where he covered government and education in Cecil County.
Before working at the Whig, he focused on the business side of news at the American Journalism Project, where he helped build startup nonprofit news outlets like Signal Cleveland in Ohio.
He is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University.
