Baltimore Business Journal editor-in-chief Joanna Sullivan has accepted a senior editor position within the American City Business Journals chain.
Managing editor Jessica Iannetta writes, “Sullivan has served as the BBJ’s editor-in-chief since 1999, leading the newsroom through the rapidly changing journalism landscape and establishing the publication’s reputation as the go-to source for business news in the Baltimore region. She first joined the BBJ in 1993 as a reporter and, after a stint at American Banker, returned as managing editor before taking over the top newsroom role. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park, where she earned a degree in journalism.
“‘I love this city. It’s been so rewarding to cover our business community for so long,’ Sullivan said. ‘I look forward to this new role with the BBJ’s parent company — and to staying in Baltimore.’
“As a senior editor with ACBJ, Sullivan will help support the chain’s 40 local newsrooms across the country in the area of content strategy. Her last day as editor-in-chief will be Oct. 25. She will remain based in Baltimore.”
