Aaron Back is becoming the head of The Wall Street Journal’s “Heard on the Street” column.
He has been deputy head since 2019. Current head Spencer Jakab is becoming an investing columnist for The Journal.
Back previously was a Heard columnist in the United States and in Asia. He has also been deputy bureau chief — supervising a team of journalists in Beijing and Shanghai covering every aspect of the Chinese economy — and a reporter for Dow Jones Newswires in Beijing and Singapore.
Back holds a bachelor’s degree from Johns Hopkins University.
