Axios has hired Thomas Novelly to cover space and is expanding its Future of Defense newsletter to send twice a week.
Novelly has covered space, military policy and politics for nearly a decade. He joins Axios from Defense One, where he covered national security threats facing the Air Force and Space Force.
Previously, he reported for Military.com, where his coverage of an emerging health crisis within the Air Force earned a Military Reporters and Editors Award, and the Charleston Post and Courier, where he covered the military and federal politics.
Novelly lives in the Washington, D.C. area. He is a graduate of Hillsdale College.
