Axios hires Demarest to cover defense

Axios has hired Colin Demarest to write about the future of the defense industry.

Demarest was a reporter at C4ISRNET, where he covered military networks, cyber and IT.

He had previously covered the Department of Energy and its National Nuclear Security Administration — namely Cold War cleanup and nuclear weapons development — for the Aiken Standard daily newspaper in South Carolina. He also contributed to the Post and Courier in Charleston.

Demarest is a University of South Carolina graduate.
