Axios expands biz team with two new hires

Axios has hired Pete Gannon as business editor and Emily Peck as markets correspondent. Gannon will contribute to and edit Axios Markets and Axios Closer, while Peck will co-author the daily Axios Markets newsletter.

Gannon joins from Acuris Global, where he was head of content management, editorial. Gannon had been with the company for over 17 years, previously serving as senior content editor, stringer manager – Americas and as a financial reporter. He was also a news reporter at Long Islander in Huntington, New York. Gannon is a graduate of Lafayette College.

Peck is a co-host of the Slate Money podcast. Recently, she was at Fundrise, a real estate investing fintech, where she was a content director. She has also worked at HuffPost, The Wall Street Journal, The American Lawyer, The New York Times, Politico and Fortune. Peck has a M.A. from Columbia University, New York.
