Automotive News hires Newcomb as a mobility reporter

Doug Newcomb

Automotive News has hired Doug Newcomb as a mobility reporter.

“I feel fortunate to have a ringside seat to report on the innovations, people and trends that are transforming transportation,” he wrote on LinkedIn.

Newcomb was previously senior industry analyst for mobility at Wards Intelligence.

He has been senior editor of technology for Edmunds.com, executive editor of Car Stereo Review, Mobile Entertainment and Road & Track Road Gear magazines, and managing editor and editor of Car Audio magazine.

Newcomb holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
