Automotive News adds two journalists

Crain publication Automotive News has added two journalists to its team.

A story on its website states, “Veteran automotive editor Wes Raynal, 62, has been hired as assistant Web editor. Raynal previously was the editor of Autoweek, a former affiliate of Automotive News. He is a graduate of Wayne State University.

“Also joining as a staff reporter is C.J. Moore, 24, who has just concluded a yearlong reporting internship at Automotive News. Moore will cover the used-vehicle and wholesale auction industries. Moore is a graduate student at Michigan State University, where she is seeking a master’s degree in science-focused journalism.”

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
