Atlanta daily promotes biz reporter Yamanouchi

Kelly Yamanouchi

Atlanta Journal-Constitution business reporter Kelly Yamanouchi has been promoted to team leader for business coverage.

It’s reporter-coach role, says economy and environment editor J. Scott Trubey. She will work with Trubey to help guide coverage of business, climate and environment, as well as future products, including newsletters.

“Kelly is a tremendous journalist and the perfect person to help lead business coverage at the AJC,” said Trubey. “The travel and logistics business beat is a prime role at the AJC and it is a priority for the team to fill this role.”

Yamanouchi started at the AJC in 2008, joining the paper from the Denver Post, and has covered airlines for about 20 years. She has a bachelor’s degree from Harvard University and a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
