Albuquerque Biz First editor Nichols named ACBJ director of editorial training

Meagan Nichols, editor-in-chief of Albuquerque Business First, has been named director of editorial training for the paper’s parent company, American City Business Journals.

She joined the Albuquerque paper in 2021.

Nichols was previously managing editor of sister paper the Memphis Business Journal, a position she held since November 2019. Prior to that role at the MBJ, she was an associate editor, lead reporter and reporter. She joined the paper in 2014.

Nichols is a graduate of the University of Memphis.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
