Ahmed Al Omran has rejoined the Financial Times as its Saudi Arabia correspondent.
He previously worked for the FT from 2017 to 2020.
Al Omran graduated with a master’s degree from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. He has worked for the National Public Radio in Washington before returning to his home country to become a correspondent for The Wall Street Journal between 2013 and 2017.
He was a Knight-Bagehot Fellow in 2021-2022. Earlier in life, his blog “Saudi Jeans” was one of the most well-known and longstanding blogs in the Middle East. His work has also appeared in other major publications such as the New York Times, the Guardian and Foreign Policy.
