The Associated Press has hired Ope Adetayo to cover west Africa.
He previously was the Nigeria correspondent at Reuters in Abuja, covering politics, development, regional diplomacy and general news.
Before joining Reuters, Adetayo was based in Lagos and worked as a freelancer reporting various issues across West Africa.
He has reported for Al Jazeera, The Washington Post, The Guardian UK, Foreign Policy, Vice, TRT World, Rest of World, Mail and Guardian, Open Democracy, Oxford Analytica and many others.
