Russell Adams has been named The Wall Street Journal’s A-hed editor, overseeing its quirky front-page features.
He previously was deputy corporate bureau chief at The Wall Street Journal. He joined the Journal in 2005, starting as a reporter covering sports and the media industry before making the transition to editing in 2012.
As an editor he has periodically dipped back into reporting. He wrote an A-hed about a 23-year game of tag that was made into a movie, and another about why Americans can’t stop eating Jack in the Box tacos. He also wrote about the enduring appeal of “The Shawshank Redemption.”
A San Diego native, Adams has an undergraduate degree in Spanish from Georgetown University and a master’s in journalism from Columbia University
