Tech journalist Dan Ackerman has become editor in chief of Micro Center, a tech and computer retailer.
He was Gizmodo editor in chief since June.
“I am gearing up to deliver stellar consumer tech content,” wrote Ackerman on LinkedIn. “Think insightful product reviews, savvy shopping tips, buying guides, and hands-on videos.”
Ackerman came to Gizmodo from consumer technology publication CNET, where he most recently served as editorial director, overseeing coverage of key tech topics including computers, gaming and virtual/augmented reality. There, he led a team producing highly-cited news and reviews and multi-platform video and social media content.
A frequent guest on television, radio and podcasts, Ackerman has long been a consumer technology expert for CBS Mornings and other programs, and is the author of the award-winning, New York Times-reviewed nonfiction book “The Tetris Effect.”
