Charlotte-based American City Business Journals unveiled Tuesday a home page redesign for its 44 business news publications, its first since 2010.

Silicon Valley Business Journal editor in chief Gary Boulanger writes, “Over the past several months, our design team at American City Business Journals in Charlotte, North Carolina, has tested a new homepage layout in several markets, gathering feedback, refining the experience and closely monitoring performance.

“The new homepage improves visibility for the content, products and events that matter most to our local audience.

“‘The updated design also more closely reflects our visual identity while providing a richer and more comprehensive presentation of everything our business journals have to offer,’ said American City Business Journals’ Vice President of Design Jon Wile.

“The redesigned homepage gives local teams like ours in San Jose significantly more flexibility and control over how we present our content. We can highlight key stories, showcase reporters and editors, promote sections and products, and better align the homepage experience with our editorial and business priorities.

“Some of the major updates include a promotional box replacing the space where the weekly newspaper was featured. The rotating carousel highlights SVBJ events and nominations, with additional features planned. This Week’s Edition is moved down toward the bottom of the homepage under our For Our Members section.”
