9fin hires Mika to cover leveraged finance

9fin has hired Dan Mika as a leveraged finance reporter.

Mika previously worked at ETF.com as a reporter. Mika has been at ETF.com for the past year. He previously was a reporter at BizWest Media in Colorado covering startups, health care, brewing, aerospace and energy.

He previously worked at the Cedar Rapids Gazette as business reporter and at the Ames Daily Tribune as a business and agriculture reporter. And he worked at the Kirksville Daily Express in Missouri as a reporter.

Mika is a graduate of Truman State University and holds a master’s degree from the University of Missouri.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
