
Ben Trollinger, who most recently was editor of the Colorado Springs Business Journal and the Colorado Springs Independent, has been named editor of the Vail Daily.
Zoe Goldstein of The Vail Daily writes, “Trollinger comes to the paper with a wealth of experience in community journalism, including spending seven years as editor in chief at the Summit Daily News and serving most recently as the editor in chief of the Colorado Springs Independent and the Colorado Springs Business Journal.
“Trollinger has embraced Colorado’s high country as a Summit County resident of 13 years, and has been committed to small, independent newspapers for even longer.
“His first job out of college — University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a degree in English and history — was as a reporter for a local newspaper in Texas. Later, as the editor of the Williamson County Sun in Texas, he learned firsthand that community-based newspapers are positioned to tell stories no regional or national media organization can.
