I’m excited to share that Emily Ngo is joining NBC News as a Newsletter Writer/Editor. She will focus on The Inside Scoop, our daily newsletter that delivers essential news and insider perspective to NBC News subscribers. In this role, Emily will help shape an engaging and useful daily digest of the most important news of the day, while also giving readers a behind-the-scenes look at how NBC News reports its biggest stories.
Emily joins us from POLITICO, where she is a political reporter and co-author of New York Playbook. An award-winning journalist with experience across print, digital, and television, she has covered New York politics at the local, state, and federal levels and built a reputation for deeply sourced, impactful reporting.
Previously, Emily was an on-air political reporter at Spectrum News NY1, where she covered Donald Trump’s 2023 legal cases and the competitive 2021 mayoral and 2020 and 2022 House primaries. She also served as a national political reporter at Newsday, covering the 2016 presidential election and President Trump’s first term in the White House.
Emily brings energy, versatility, and a strong editorial voice to our team. She will be based in 30 Rock and will report to Liz Murray. She starts today, and we’re thrilled to have her on board.
