Westfair Biz Journal hires Larkin as editor

Westfair Communications, the Mount Kisco, New York-based publisher of the Westfair Business Journal, has hired Gary Larkin as its editor, its 10th editor overall in six years.

Gary Larkin
Larkin replaces Justin McGown as editor, who in turn replaced Phil Hall in February, who in turn replaced Kevin Zimmerman, who replaced Bob Rozycki, who replaced Glenn Kalinoski, who replaced Bill Armstrong, who replaced John Golden after his retirement in February 2018.
This doesn’t include Karen Reddington Sackowitz and Erin Real, who were both briefly a managing editor.
Larkin is a former editor of The Bristol Press, a daily Connecticut newspaper, and earlier in his career he edited The Riverdale Press, a weekly Bronx newspaper.
McGown has taken on a job as reporter at PEI.
Westfair has been experiencing financial difficulties following its aborted 2019 merger with Cantata Media, publisher of the Daily Voice news sites, and the Covid-19 pandemic which saw the discontinuation of its longtime three print publications, the weekly Westchester County Business Journal and the Fairfield County Business Journal and the monthly WAG Magazine.
The two business journals were combined into a digital Westfair Business Journal, and the company maintains a website with daily news briefs.
