The Logic hires Golob to cover fintech

At The Canadian Press, she wrote a weekly series on Gen Z/millennial money. Before launching her career as a freelancer, she was a reporter for Investment Executive, a publication for financial professionals.

This summer Leah won first prize in the short article category at the Portfolio Management Association of Canada’s Awards for Excellence in Investment Journalism and silver at SABEW Canada’s Best in Business Awards in the trade article category.

She has a wealth of knowledge about Canada’s financial sector to draw on as she tackles the important fintech beat, which includes coverage of some of Canada’s most prominent public and private tech players, including Wealthsimple, Lightspeed, Clearco, Nuvei, Neo Financial and Portage Ventures.

Leah will be based in Toronto, and joins The Logic on Dec. 5. Please welcome her to the team.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
