Abigail Summerville

Anirban Sen, editor in charge of U.S. mergers and acquisitions at Reuters, sent out the following on Wednesday:

I’m pleased to announce that Abigail Summerville has joined us as a M&A Correspondent, based in New York. In her new role, Abigail will focus on breaking news and landing the biggest scoops in the consumer and retail industries.

Abigail is no stranger to the world of corporate finance. She was a senior reporter at Debtwire, where she regularly broke news on the leveraged finance beat, while also writing about other topics including deal origination, restructurings, and distressed situations. Her scoops included Carlyle Group’s move to back out of its deal to buy American Express Global Business Travel and the bankruptcy of Platinum Equity-owned Wesco Aircraft. She interned at the Wall Street Journal, CNBC and the Boston Business Journal.

Abigail grew up in Arlington, Virginia and majored in Business Journalism at Washington and Lee University. She lives in Williamsburg, New York, and enjoys the outdoors in her free time. Her interests include hiking & camping, attending book clubs, and going to concerts (next up on her wish-list – Harry Styles at Madison Square Gardens).

Abigail started her new role this week and will report to me. Please join me in congratulating Abigail and wishing her success in her new role!

Best,

Anirban
