Buyouts hires Gethard as a reporter

Gregg Gethard

Buyouts has hired Gregg Gethard as a reporter covering pension funds and private equity.

He spent the past several years working in public relations.

Gethard has taught classes in public speaking and business writing at Gwynedd Mercy University in Pennsylvania. He previously worked for Westlaw Daily Publications, a subsidiary of ThomsonReuters, writing articles about legal complaints and related filings pertaining to environmental and energy law.

He also worked for the weekly newspaper in Plymouth, Massachusetts as a business reporter and was an assistant editor for International Oil Daily. He also wrote for Petroleum Intelligence Weekly, Energy Intelligence Finance and several other publications.

He holds a master’s degree in Central and Eastern European studies from LaSalle University.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
