Sara Yasin will be joining the Los Angeles Times as managing editor, overseeing the daily news operation and the photo and data and graphics teams.
She begins on April 18.
Currently, Yasin is managing editor, news, at BuzzFeed News. Previously, she served as director of news curation, deputy director for news curation, lead editor for news curation, and social news reporter. She was also a social media editor for GlobalPost in Boston.
Yasin has also worked as deputy politics editor and then as world editor at PolicyMic in New York.
Yasin earned her bachelor’s degree from North Carolina State University and her master’s degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
