Yahoo Sports hires two for exec positions

Yahoo Sports has hired George Leimer as head of product and technology and Sam Farber as general manager of Rivals.com.

George Leimer

In his new role, Leimer will oversee product development and innovation across the Yahoo Sports and Yahoo Fantasy platforms. He joins from Rally, a platform that allows for buying and selling equity in collectibles, where he served as CEO. He also worked as senior VP, data platforms at the Walt Disney Company.

He has also worked at ESPN, Apple, eBay, CoreTech Consulting Group and Softmart, Inc.

Leimer graduated from Widener University in Pennsylvania.

Sam Farber

Farber will lead the Rivals.com business, the original and longest-standing football and basketball recruiting news service, which Yahoo acquired in 2007. Recently, he was at Goldin, a leading sports and entertainment collectibles marketplace. There, he held various posts, including head of business development, content and international.

Farber also worked at the National Basketball Association for more than a decade, where he worked in digital strategy, partnerships and marketing.

Farber has degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and NYU Stern School of Business.
