WSJ hires Simonetti to cover TV and streaming

Isabella Simonetti

The Wall Street Journal has hired Isabella Simonetti to cover the business of television and streaming.

She started on Monday.

Simonetti had been at The Observer in New York covering technology and the creator economy since 2021.

She previously was interning at Bloomberg News. She also interned at Her Money, Vox, the New York Post and the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Simonetti is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. While there, she was president of The Daily Pennsylvanian, the student newspaper.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
