Woolley to depart The Guardian after 21 years

Alice Woolley, who spent 21 years at The Guardian, including 13 years as editor of Guardian Education will leave.

She tweets:

“I’m finally leaving the @guardian at the end of June. It’s been a wonderful 21 years; 13 as editor of @GuardianEdu. I’ve made true friends among the fantastic writers and inspiring educators I’ve met. Looking forward to a lazy summer. Not leaving Twitter!”

Prior to joining the Guardian, Woolley worked at the Independent. There, she served as assistant features editor and deputy editor of the Express Saturday magazine, where she was also the chief celebrity interviewer.
