Laura Wides-Muñoz has joined the Los Angeles Times as deputy editor, Washington bureau. Before joining the LA Times, Wides-Muñoz was executive editor for news practice at ABC News.
Prior to that, she was at Fusion Media Network for more than 3 years, joining as director of news practice and then holding the post of VP special projects, editorial strategy. She has also worked as a reporter at the Associated Press for more than 9 years and was a guest commentator at NPR WLRN.
She was also a Nieman Fellow at Harvard University and has worked as a reporter and as a freelance reporter at the Los Angeles Times.
Wides-Muñoz is a B.A. in environmental studies from Brown University.
