WFAE taps Young to cover immigration and the Latino community

WFAE-FM  90.7, the NPR-affiliate non-commercial public radio station in Charlotte, N.C., has hired Kayla Young to cover immigration and the Latino community as a Report for America corps member.

Young joins from Cayman Current, a nonprofit education news organization, where she was a journalist. She has also served as a community and business reporter for Compass Media in Cayman Islands.

There, she was later promoted to dual copy desk and reporting position, contributing to story planning, page layout and editing. She has also worked freelance.

Young graduated from the University of Texas at Austin.
