Westfall among Dotdash Meredith layoffs

Sandra Sobieraj Westfall

Sandra Sobieraj Westfall, national political correspondent and editor at large for People Magazine at Dotdash Meredith is among the layoffs by the company. She joined in 2003 as Washington bureau chief.

Westfall also served as a digital writer.

She was the “First-ever Time Inc. Most Valuable Performer,” an award “to a single editorial staffer in distinguished midcareer” from across the company’s 86 brands and 50 global offices.

She was honored with the “White House Correspondents’ Association Merriman-Smith” Award “for excellence in presidential news coverage under deadline pressure.”

She also worked at The Associated Press for more than eight years as a presidential campaign and White House reporter, and as a White House correspondent. She was also a journalist at the San Jose Business Journal.
