The New York Times has promoted Emily Weinstein to editor in chief of Cooking and Food. The Times reports:
“It’s a new role in which she’ll bring her wide managerial experience and editorial entrepreneurship to the newsroom’s leadership team, and help chart the future of two of our most important Culture and Lifestyle franchises.”
Weinstein has been with the Times for more than 15 years, joining as senior staff editor and web producer for Dining and Home. She also held the posts of assistant food editor, editor of NYT Cooking, deputy food editor and Food and Cooking editor.
Previously, she was an assistant editor at The Village Voice and an editorial assistant at Condé Nast, where she also interned.
Weinstein has a B.A. from Vassar College and a master’s degree from Columbia University.
