Yahoo has hired Kelsey Weekman as a reporter and editor to cover internet culture for its Gen Z vertical “In The Know.”
Weekman will work in this post for the next six months and freelance as well. Her most recent journalistic post was as an internet culture reporter at BuzzFeed.
Previously, she worked at Yahoo’s “In The Know” from February 2020 to January 2022 as a trending content editor and then senior writer. She also wrote for Yahoo’s daily newsletter “The Yodel.”
In addition, she served as a push and mobility editor at CBS News and as a content strategist at Billboard.
She also held the posts of trending content writer and social media manager at Aol, and served as a web culture writer at Mashable.
Weekman has a B.A. in media, journalism and public relations from the UNC School of Media and Journalism, where she worked at the student newspaper The Daily Tar Heel.
