The following excerpt announcement was sent out by The New York Times Magazine editor-in-chief Jake Silverstein:
I’m thrilled to announce that the inimitable Caity Weaver will be joining the Magazine as a staff writer effective immediately. Caity came to The Times in 2018, and has principally worked for Styles since then.
During that time Caity has also been writing occasionally for the Magazine.
At the Magazine, Caity will be working with Willy Staley, who edited her most recent story, and writing on her typically diverse range of topics, which are likely to include, but not be limited to, people, places, food items she can get the Magazine to pay for, and experiences and phenomena that spark her curiosity, bewilderment or obsession.
She will be based in New Mexico. Please join me in welcoming her aboard.
