Kevin Uhrmacher has been promoted to the post of graphics assignment editor covering politics at The Washington Post.
In his new role, Uhrmacher will step into the shoes of Reuben Fischer-Baum, who will leave the role after the election and become the assignment editor for business and technology.
Uhrmacher joined the Post in 2014 as a design and graphics intern. He has mostly focused on politics, including a stint embedded with The Fix and the Politics team.
Uhrmacher has also worked as an editorial design co-op at The Boston Globe. He was also design and graphics editor at The Daily Tar Heel where he was responsible for package design, editing, training of staff and long-term planning.
Uhrmacher has also served as an editorial design intern at NPR and before that was working at The Daily Tar Heel where she held numerous posts, including copy desk staffer, copy desk assistant, graphics desk staffer and special sections.
