Mina Haq is joining the emerging news products’ curation and platforms team as a multiplatform editor at The Washington Post.
In this role, she will focus on the Post’s “Select” app and off-platform story distribution.
Her first day is Aug. 24.
Previously, Haq was working on the multiplatform editing desk where she was responsible for copy-editing stories, writing headlines and editing projects from all corners of the newsroom.
Prior to joining the Post, Haq was with The Diamondback for more than two years joining as a copy editor. She then became assistant managing editor and was then promoted to the post of managing editor and recently held the post of editor-in-chief.
She has also interned at The Baltimore Sun Media Group and USA Today. Additionally, she was a reporter at Capital News Service.
Haq has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from University of Maryland College Park.
