Marisa Fariña

The Washington Post has named Marisa Fariña as managing director of Washington Post Live, a leading platform for convening longform discussions with newsmakers, elected officials and industry experts.

In this role, she will help develop Live’s business strategy and will oversee a dedicated sales unit responsible for expanding opportunities for brands to work with Washington Post Live.

Kris Coratti, general manager, Washington Post Live said:

“Washington Post Live has the unique ability to examine of-the-moment topics like race in America and coronavirus recovery efforts, as well as dive deep into subjects such as technology, politics, education, and more. On a daily basis, and often multiple times a day, these newsworthy programs are reaching around 250,000 viewers–a highly informed audience that brands want to engage.

“We’re excited to have Marisa bring this value and a strategic vision to brands. With an understanding of client’s objectives and creative drive, her expertise will be a great asset to our team and our business.”

Fariña comes to the Post from Tina Brown Live Media where she worked for more than 6 years, joining as VP, strategic partnerships and recently held the post of CRO and VP of strategic partnerships.

She has also worked as a co-organizer at TEDxEast and was group publisher at Time Out North America. She was group publisher at Time Out Chicago and was also the co-founder of DUMBO Parents Organization.

She also held the posts of marketing manager and account executive at Time Out New York and Boston Globe, respectively.

During her time at Time Out North America, Fariña was named a recipient of Folio Magazine’s 30 Under 30 award. Fariña is also a board member at Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy and Horizons.
