Washington Post taps Ang as breaking news editor in Seoul

The Washington Post has named Katerina Ang its breaking news editor in Seoul, joining Kendra Nichols, the Seoul hub editor. Both will work on launching a team that is playing a key role in The Post’s global expansion.

Her new role begins May 10.

Previously, Ang was an assignment editor, foreign desk at The Post. She has also worked as a contributing editor (Asia) at The Fuller Project. She has also written, edited and was consulted on new launches for Nikkei Asia, The Washington Post, Dow Jones and Meredith Corp.

She was also a global commissioning editor, Vogue Business, at Conde Nast. She has also worked as a digital editor at The Wall Street Journal.

Additionally, she has also written for the New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Esquire, The World of Interiors, MAXIM, Architectural Digest, Quartz, the Nikkei Asian Review, Monocle and others.

She was also a Southeast Asia correspondent, Women’s Wear Daily, at Conde Nast.

Ang is a B.A. in history from Columbia University, New York.
