The Washington Post has named Rebecca Tan Southeast Asia bureau chief, covering a huge stretch from the Philippines to Bangladesh.
Tan will initially operate from Singapore before moving to Bangkok by early 2023.
She previously reported on the local desk as a metro reporter. Prior to the Post, she was an intern at Vox. Then, she spent back-to-back summers at the Post, including stints on Foreign and Local.
Tan graduated from the University of Pennsylvania.
