Washington Post promotes Firozi to assistant editor, climate and environment

The Washington Post‘s climate and environment department has tapped Paulina Firozi as an assistant editor. In her new role, she will work with reporters and editors to conceive and edit news and enterprise about the climate, environment and extreme weather. She will also coordinate coverage with other desks.

Recently, Firozi was a general assignment reporter and worked as a researcher for several of the Post’s 202 newsletters, including Energy 202, Health 202 and Finance 202.

Prior to joining the Post, Firozi served a social media curator and reporter at The Hill. She has also interned at NPR, USA Today, the Chicago Tribune Media Group and The Washington Post.

Firozi graduated from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, where she served as editor in chief of The Daily Northwestern.
