The Washington Post has named Emily Codik assistant editor on Wellness. An excerpt from the announcement reads:
“In her new role, Emily will develop a new ‘Ask’ column, working with a varied group of nontraditional freelancers who will provide expert advice to readers. Emily will also work with our visual and social media teams to create social-first content, and step in as needed to edit staff and freelance stories and help produce a new rebranded wellness newsletter.”
Previously, Codik served as assistant editor – Weekend and the Going Out Guide, editor on pop culture and multi-platform editor. She was an arts editor at The Washingtonian Magazine.
She formerly worked as a food blogger, restaurant critic and food editor at Miami New Times.
Codik has a B.A. in art history from Duke University and a master’s in journalism from Georgetown University.
