Darren Sands is joining the general assignment news desk at the Washington Post to cover breaking news and enterprise stories.
Sands joins the Post from BuzzFeed, where he spent more than five years working as a senior politics reporter. Prior to that, Sands was sports business editor at Black Enterprise and also served as a reporting fellow at Village Voice Media.
He was also sports writer, contributor at Newsday.
Additionally, he has also worked at The Boston Globe for more than three years as a correspondent covering local breaking news on the weekends and writing features for the City Weekly section of The Boston Sunday Globe.
Sands has a degree in journalism from Hofstra University.
