Jackson Barton, a video intern at The Washington Post has been named breaking news video editor for mornings. Barton will “coordinate with the Universal Desk on live streams, source key videos for developing stories and edit breaking news packages for on- and off-site.” He begins Aug. 15.
Previously, Barton interned at Waypoint Robotics, Inc.; KXAN-TV Ch. 36, an NBC affiliate in Austin, Texas; and Lawrence Journal-World in Kansas. He was a multimedia fellow at the Texas Tribune.
Barton has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin, where he worked at the student paper.
