WaPo welcomes 30 interns to its Class of 2023

The Washington Post is thrilled to announce its 2023 summer intern class. For 60 years, The Post has welcomed college juniors, seniors and graduate students into the newsroom to work alongside some of the world’s best journalists.

The interns represent 17 colleges and universities and will work as reporters, photographers, videographers, graphics reporters and developers, designers, editorial writers, multiplatform editors and producers, social media editors, and audio producers.

Two interns have been named Bradlee Fellows, in recognition of the courage and integrity that legendary Washington Post Executive Editor Benjamin C. Bradlee instilled in his newsroom.

Here are The Washington Post 2023 summer interns:

  • Sofia Andrade, a junior at Harvard University, will be a reporting intern in Features.
  • Shera Avi-Yonah, a graduate student at Oxford University, will be a reporting intern on the General Assignment news desk.
  • Yen Chi “Chris” Chang, a graduate student at the University of California at Berkeley, will intern in Video.
  • Michael Charles, a graduate student at the University of Maryland, will be a reporting intern in Sports.
  • Tanya Chawla, a junior at the University of California at Berkeley, will intern in Audio.
  • Josh Chen, a junior at Northwestern University, will intern in Design.
  • Minh Connors, a graduate student at the University of Missouri, will intern in Photography.
  • Corinne Dorsey, a senior at Howard University, will be a reporting intern in Metro.
  • Greta Forslund, a senior at Arizona State University, will intern on the Multiplatform Editing desk.
  • Tamia Fowlkes, a graduate student at Columbia University, will be a reporting intern on the General Assignment news desk.
  • Zoe Glasser, a senior at Syracuse University, will be a reporting intern in Features.
  • Jasmine Green, a junior at Harvard University, will intern in Opinions.
  • Claudia Hernández, a graduate student at the City University of New York Brooklyn College, will be an editing intern in Photography.
  • Grant Johnson, a junior at James Madison University, is a Dow Jones News Fund intern and will intern on the Multiplatform Editing desk.
  • Fiza Kuzhiyil, a junior at the University of Texas at Austin, will be an editing intern in Opinions.
  • Samantha Latson, a graduate student at Indiana University, is a Bradlee Fellow and will be a reporting intern in Metro.
  • Mary Claire Molloy, a senior at Indiana University, is a Bradlee Fellow and will be a reporting intern in Metro.
  • Nyrene Monforte, a senior at the University of Maryland, will intern in Video.
  • Peter Jay “PJ” Morales, a senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, will intern in Sports.
  • Clara Ence Morse, a senior at Columbia University, will intern on the Data team.
  • Greg Morton, a graduate student at the University of Maryland, will intern on the Data team.
  • Brooke Park, a senior at the University of Texas at Austin, will intern in Opinions.
  • Heidi Pérez-Moreno, a senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, will be a reporting intern in Metro.
  • Eve Sampson, a graduate student at the University of Maryland, is a Military Veterans in Journalism Fellow and will report in Foreign.
  • Kate Selig, a junior at Stanford University, will be a reporting intern in Climate and Environment.
  • Aquil Starks Jr., a senior at Howard University, will intern in Curation and Platforms.
  • Eli Tan, a graduate student at Columbia University, will be a reporting intern in Business.
  • Carson TerBush, a senior at Indiana University, will intern in Design and Graphics.
  • Daniela Vivas Labrador, a graduate of the University of Central Florida, will intern in Curation and Platforms.
  • Hanna Zakharenko, a senior at the University of Maryland, will intern in Graphics.
