The Washington Post has tapped Samantha Chery to serve as a breaking news reporter in the Features department.
Recently, Chery served as a multiplatform editor for gender and identity. She joined the Post in June 2022 as a features intern. Previously, she wrote for the nonprofit organization Gainesville Black Professionals.
She also worked at WUFT News for more than two years in various roles, including local news reporter and news anchor.
She also served as the managing editor of Gainesville-based Atrium Magazine and interned at the Sun Sentinel Media Group.
Chery graduated from the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications.
