The following excerpt was sent out from The Washington Post’s executive producer Michelle Jaconi and head of audience strategy and growth Erika Allen:

Emma Grazado

We are thrilled to announce that Emma Grazado has joined The Post as our first social media coach. In this new role, Emma will work to boost connections between our reporters and new audiences using social media. She will provide group and individual training on best practices for building trust, affinity and habit in the changing landscape of social platforms.

Emma previously worked as an audience editor at USA Today and an editorial intern at NPR. At NPR, she published guides for journalists and the public on how to tell stories on each of the dominant social platforms. She also published a guide to building trust with new sources.

Emma graduated from the University of Maryland at College Park in 2021 with a major in journalism and a minor in French. At U-Md., she worked for the Diamondback and the Howard Center for Investigative Journalism. At the Howard Center, she designed webpages and graphics for “Printing Hate,” an investigation led by Post writer DeNeen L. Brown on how White-owned newspapers incited racial violence in America from the end of Reconstruction to 1940.
