Paulina Villegas, a general assignment reporter at The Washington Post, has taken a buyout. Her post on X/Twitter reads:
“I have decided to take a buyout offer from The Washington Post to pursue other opportunities. It has been an honor to work at a news organization that believes in journalistic excellence as much as it does in diversity and equal opportunity.”
Villegas had joined the Post in August 2020.
Prior to joining the Post, she was a news reporter at The New York Times, where she worked for more than six years.
Villegas has a bachelor’s degree in journalism and media studies from ITESM Campus Monterrey and an M.S. in journalism from Columbia University, New York.
