Award-winning journalist Rob Walters has been appointed editor of the Kingsport Times News.
Walters brings more than 30 years of experience, including print, broadcast and digital journalism, to the newsroom. He joins from the Bristol Herald Courier, where he has held the post of managing editor since 2016.

With almost five years under his belt in the Tri-Cities, he has a broad knowledge of the region and understands the myriad opportunities.”
Walters has also received top honors, including a Scripps Howard Public Service, a Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award, and two SABEW Best in Business awards, as well as multiple state and national Freedom of Information awards.
