Vox has appointed Allie Volpe as a senior reporter, focused on service journalism and Izzie Ramirez as deputy editor of Future Perfect.
Volpe has contributed several stories for Vox. Her bylines have also appeared in the New York Times, The Atlantic, Rolling Stone, Washington Post, BBC, Vice, GQ, Medium, Thrillist, Eater and more. She has also worked at Philly.com. Volpe has a B.A. in journalism/radio television, film from Rowan University.
In her new role, Ramirez will manage Future Perfect’s fellowship program and lead the production of its newsletter. Currently, she is the managing editor at Spoon University, a food publication. Her freelance work has appeared in Eater, Gothamist, Vice and The New York Times. She has also worked at ABC News and was an intern at Salon Media Group, Inc. Ramirez earned a bachelor’s degree from New York University and a M.A. from Columbia University, New York.
