Katie Wadington

Katie Wadington, Washington editor for breaking news and planning at USA Today, has tweeted the following:

“Thursday was my last day at @USATODAY . With 17+ years @Gannett , I took a buyout. It was time. I’ll miss my colleagues dearly: They’re the best people, simply top-notch journalists who believe in truth and facts. Now, onward, to a new adventure.”

She also held editorial roles at the Chicago Sun-Times, the Daily Herald in suburban Chicago and the Wisconsin State Journal.

She was a Dow Jones copy editing intern at The Herald in Sharon, Pa.

Wadington has a B.A. in journalism from Indiana University Bloomington.
