USA Today Network-Florida has hired Sergio R. Bustos as enterprise/politics editor, overseeing the coverage of the 2022 elections. He will also be working with a team of statewide reporters and collaborating with editors and reporters throughout the network.
Bustos was recently South regional manager at Report for America. He was also a deputy opinion editor at The Sun Sentinel Media Group and a world editor at USA Today. He has also served as senior editor for Politico Florida.
He was also a national political reporter at The Associated Press and a state and politics editor and Sunday editor at The Miami Herald. He was formerly a Washington correspondent at The Arizona Republic and has written for the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Bustos is a Virginia Commonwealth University graduate.
